Petra Baji, Ph.D., is an associate professor at the Department of the Health Economics Corvinus University of Budapest. She obtained an MSc in Economics at the Corvinus University of Budapest in 2009 and a Ph.D. from Maastricht University in 2013. Her research interest considers out-of-pocket payments and willingness to pay for health care services including informal payments, the effect of risk perception on health-related decisions as well as health economic evaluations. In 2014 she received the CERGE-EI Carrier Integration Fellowship (2014-17) for teaching economics in the Central-Eastern European region.
She received a research grant from the Hungarian Scientific Research Fund (2014-16) for her post-doc project „The effect of risk perception on health-related decisions”. In 2016 she received a one-year research grant from the New National Research Excellence Program. Petra is the co-author of 33 English-language refereed scientific papers (The number of publications in top 25% journals (top 10%) is 23 (5).) Since 2015 she has been an associate editor at BMC Health Services Research, Section: Utilization, Expenditure, Economics, and Financing Systems.
