Alexandru Butiseacă is currently a senior scientific researcher at the Institute for World Economy of the Romanian Academy and an Assistant Professor in International Trade and Trade Policies with Romanian-American University in Bucharest.
He is coordinator of the ”Murray Rothbard” Center for Political Economy and Business within the Romanian-American University (Bucharest) – winner of the international competition “2011 Templeton Freedom Award” as the best academic world center, promoter of freedom, organized by Atlas Economic Research Foundation in the United States.
His work in editorial management is linked to the position of editor in chief of “The Review of Social and Economic Issues” journal which encourages cross-disciplinary research work and promotes the analysis of contemporary issues from a liberty-oriented perspective and includes in its editorial board austro-libertarian professors and scholars from universities such as Harvard University, George Mason University, University of Manchester, Peace University or the University of Angers.
Since 2007, Alex Butiseacă has been involved in several research projects and has held various seminars and workshops on topics of economics, for journalists, students, and politicians. During his academic career, he has organized numerous conferences, summer schools, and international scientific symposiums on topics of economics and business, in partnership with institutions such as the Cato Institute, Foundation for Economic Education, Acton Institute, Institute for Economic Affairs, CEVRO Institute Prague, Friedrich Naumann Foundation for Freedom, Atlas Economic Research Foundation, International Society for Individual Liberty, Economic Thinking, Grassroot Institute of Hawaii, or the European Commission representation in Romania and the European Parliament Information Office.
