Sydney Williams grew up in New Hampshire, graduating from the University of New Hampshire in 1965, after serving in the U.S. Army. He spent forty-eight years in the financial industry in New York, retiring in 2015. In 2000, He began writing market notes, which morphed into Thoughts of Day, reflections on politics, education, and culture. He has had published three books, two essays, and one of the letters between his parents during World War II.
He has been married for fifty-six years, the father of three and the grandfather of ten.
His wife and he now live in a retirement community in Essex, Connecticut.
